Spaghetti Aglio Olio Tutorial

For our final practical assignment, we decided to make a cooking tutorial. Since none of us has a great experience/ability in cooking, it was a little bit of a hard decision making for us to pick the dish. Finally we chose a signature Italian dish, pasta. We decided to make a tutorial on making Spaghetti Aglio Olio because it is unique and different, comparing to the typical bolognese or carbonara. So here it is, hope you enjoy it!

Korean food

Korean food are mostly based on rice, vegetables and meats. The traditional meal in Korea are several dishes that accompany steam-cooked short-gain rice. Kimchi is a very common meal in Korea, sometime at every day meal which contains sesame oil, soy sauce, salt, pepper flakes and red chili paste. Beef is the the most common meat in their country, it  can be boiling in soups which is very delicious. (Michelle)

Indonesian Special - Tumpeng

I am Indonesian, and to pick one particular dish from my country isn't easy because honestly speaking, we have lots of good food! But there's this one celebration menu that really stands out from the others and also represents the others at the same time. Moreover, I made this once with my high school friends for our class teacher's birthday so I think I can share a little bit of the excitement! It's called "Tumpeng". The special thing about it is that the rice is moulded into a cone shape like a mountain. It is placed in the middle of tampah (a round container made of woven bamboo) that is already covered by banana leaves. The rice usually used is yellow rice (cook with coconut milk and colored with turmeric), but we used plain white rice.
And then surrounding it are assorted Indonesian traditional side dishes. My friends and I split the side dishes so there are at least 2 people bringing each one of them, and we made a really good team! The side dishes that we made are peanuts with white bait fishes, telor balado (fried eggs with chili sauce), fried noodle, potato fritters, fried tofu, sweet and dry tempeh, Indonesian fried chicken (cooked with coconut milk instead of flour), shredded omelette, cucumber, and last but most important, sambal terasi. This dish is perfect for any traditional celebrations. And it was perfect for my teacher's birthday surprise! (Andriana)

German Favourites

source: www.groupon.com.au

All German favorites on a plate! - Sauerkraut, sausages, and mash potatoes. I assume we all know about the typical German cuisine sausage and mash potato, how they taste like and perhaps we even know the restaurants that sell the best of them. So in this post I will focus more on the Sauerkraut, or "sour cabbage" in English. It is not as well world known as the other foods on the plate, yet just as popular in Germany. As its name, the main hero in this dish is cabbage. But unlike coleslaw or any other cabbage dishes, Sauerkraut is made of strongly fermented cabbages which make it has a unique sour flavor. I never really tried this because yes, I hate sour and I'm more than sure I couldn't stand that "unique" sourness. But hey if you do like sour, out of curiosity, one go never hurts. (Andriana)

Thailand Food

Thailand do not have very special breakfast dishes. A Thai breakfast is consisting of the same food  as lunch or dinner. For example, noodle soup, steamed rice with some omelette, fried pork and chicken. These are mostly common sold in Thailand. ‘Khao tom' is a Thai style rice soup with pork, fresh chicken and shrimp. French food

The breakfast in France is a quick meal which consist of pieces of French bread with jam and jelly and a cup of coffee or tea. Children will have hot chocolate with their breakfasts.

French food have several characteristics. For example, the first one is they will use a lot of time to cook. Second is most French will cook fish, seafood, game birds, veal, vegetable and other natural flavors. (Michelle)
